System 2 Rack Mount

The System 2 Rack Mount was designed to cool the small to mid-size rack. Using the same proportional speed control circuitry as other System 2 family members, a small thermistor senses temperature rise, and adjusts fan speed accordingly. The fans typically begin to turn about 15-20 minutes after the system is turned on, and will gradually slow and stop after the system is turned off.

An effective mounting technique is to install the System 2 Rack Mount on the rear rails of a rack. Install a 1U vent panel, as open as possible, low on the front rails of the rack. As long as there is a space of at least 2" - 3" behind the rack, a stream of air will be generated that enters low in the front of the rack, and travels back and upward, cooling the equipment in the rack.
