Overview

The DSC 3G4000USA is a new cellular communicator that can be used with any panel that uses the Contact ID format for reporting. The reporter uses the 3G cellular network and will automatically switch to the 2G network just in case a 3G network isn't available. The 3G4000USA provides full event reporting so when central station receives the signal they will be able to distinguish which zone gave the alarm report.

There are 2 inputs and 2 outputs. The 2 inputs can be used to trigger certain communications. They report in Contatc ID codes 991 and 992. The defaults for these are Burglary and Supervisory. So basically they can be used as a simple trigger to send two specific codes. The 2 outputs can be used to trigger devices such as lights or cameras attached to a DVR/NVR that has inputs. Once a certain circumstance occurs; the 3G4000 can trigger these devices using the 2 outputs given.

If you're using this communicator with another panel that's not a DSC 1616, 1832 or 1864 then you will hook it up differently. You can use the 3G4000 as a universal Communicator because of it's ability to pull information from a panel's phone line terminals using a method called dialer capture. If you are using this with a DSC 1616, 1832 or 1864 then you will hook it up via a PCLink connection. This is a very versatile communicator and will handle your security system reporting to central station with no problems.
