Flexible Connectivity

The PHA-2 supports a wide array of digital devices, with 3 USB inputs: standard A for iPod®/iPhone®/iPad®1 devices, micro-B for PC or Mac®, and mini-B for Hi-Res Walkman® connectivity. The PHA-2 also offers an analog input for connecting to most MP3 players, smartphones and other audio devices in addition to a line out for external amp or active speakers.

Specifc, hand-selected components work together to provide sublime audio. The DAC samples PCM audio at 192 kHz/24 bit & DSD audio at either 2.8/5.6 MHz. The operational amp then delivers outstanding signal & performance with ultra-low distortion, low noise & high slew rate. Finally, the high bandwidth headphone amp delivers more than 120 dB of dynamic range to ensure music is heard with every detail.

Jitter-Free Audio Performance

An asynchronous USB 2.0 clock designed to ensure the accurate delivery of D/A conversions supplies a pure clock signal for reduced timing inaccuracies when converting digital signals into analog waveforms. This all adds up to maintains sound stage integrity and audio response, resulting in superior audio performance with minimal noise and distortion.

Powerful Portability

An internal rechargeable battery provides approximately 6.5 hours of hi-res playback when connected digitally via USB input or up to 17 hours of playback when connected using the analog, 1/8” stereo input.2

Flexible Headphone Support

A two position, side mounted gain switch allows you to optimize the PHA-2’s output level to match varying headphone impedances ranging from 8 to 600 Ohm. Select between Low or High settings to maximize your listening experience.

Built for Hard Knocks

A compact aluminum enclosure protects the delicate circuitry from outside interference and impacts while alloy bumpers protect the volume knob and headphone connectors from impact. Recessed control switches also reduce the chance of accidental access during playback.
